Steven Thode
The presentation will first provide a level set on server virtualization terms, key technologies and benefits. Then, provide guidance and considerations directly related to security issues that arise when implementing a server virtualization environment.
Steven is an Information Systems Architect with HP Enterprise Services. In his current assignment as Infrastructure Architect for GM’s Global Manufacturing and Quality organization, he has globally responsibility and provides strategic direction for many core components of in-plant computing infrastructure, such as Active Directory, DNS/DHCP services, plant floor client computing, Windows Server architectures, network security, and virtualization. As lead technical architect for the in-plant server virtualization project, he is responsible for the technical architecture and strategic direction of virtualizing all servers that support plant floor operations at nearly 70 plants worldwide. Steven has over 21 years of experience in IT, including 8 years as a cryptologist in the military, over 13 years in manufacturing at General Motors, and over 11 years as a Microsoft Certified Trainer. Aside from his work with General Motors, Steven is currently teaching the MCITP program at Oakland Community College
