Senior Communication Engineer

Functional Responsibility: The Senior
Communication Engineer will serve as the lead technical expert on network
infrastructure support and maintenance activities across ETA National Office, six
(6) regional offices, three (3) satellite offices and a Disaster Recovery site.
Provide both strategic and tactical infrastructure planning for ETA. Manage
ETA’s multi-vendor networking devices and technologies, including
routers, switches, and firewalls, application content switches from Cisco, 3COM
and Juniper. Configure and maintain circuit provisioning
operations, Virtual LANs, Virtual Private Network and various internetworking
protocols that include but are not limited to: Ethernet, STP, OSPF, BGP, IGP,
MPLS, and IP and IPv6. In addition, design and support ETA's WAN connectivity
as a chief architect. Investigate and deploy solutions for network performance
optimization. Report on evaluations of advanced communication equipment,
network software, telecommunication services, operating systems, video
conferencing, remote access systems and protocols. Develop, implement, test,
and maintain ETA’s IT infrastructure Disaster Recovery operations.
Develop network infrastructure Disaster Recovery procedures and policies.
Design, implement and maintain automatic failover WAN and LAN network
infrastructure for Disaster Recovery. Investigate and establish access control
and proactive network security management solutions and policies. Provide
tier-3 level troubleshooting support. Monitor network and web traffic. Provide
consistent review periodically on audit trails and system logs. Perform
forensic analysis on suspicious network activities.
Qualifications/Education:
(1) Master or
bachelor’s degree in a related area and 10 or more years of experience in
the field, in related areas.
(2) Cisco Certified
Internetwork Expert (CCIE) is required.
(3) Knowledge of the
Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) principals and concepts.
(4) 10+ years of
experience in managing high-end routing protocols, secure remote access,
diverse network security solutions (Firewalls, Intrusion Detection System,
Intrusion Prevention System, and Web Filtering etc.) and various WAN
technologies including ATM, Frame Relay and VBNS.
(5) Familiarity with
ETA’s IT infrastructure environment and management policies. Direct
experience or knowledge is preferred.
(6) Solid hands-on
experience on the following areas:
a) Cisco
network devices: routers, switches, firewalls, VPN concentrators, IDS
appliances, content switches.
b) Juniper
routers.
c) Design,
implement and maintain Disaster Recovery network infrastructure across multiple
sites.
d) Design
and implement redundancy and traffic engineering using OSPF for IGP and BGP.
e) Manage
video traffic using QoS
f)
Manage network security for large, complex organizations.
(7) Excellent
verbal and written skills.
