Summary of duties and responsibilities:

Contributes to the fulfillment of the Carhartt mission and vision by planning, designing, implementing and maintaining programs, policies, and management systems in all facets of security systems, both paper and electronic, in support of information technology and software application initiatives across Carhartt systems. The incumbent works collaboratively with management and staff to achieve system objectives. Under general direction, the incumbent performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and Carhartt information, and to protect systems and data from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Interfaces with user community to understand their security needs and implements procedures to accommodate them. Ensures that user community understands and adheres to necessary procedures to maintain security. Conducts accurate evaluation of the level of security required.
Maintains the disaster recovery plan including coordination of the annual disaster recovery test.

Responsibilities:
Primary duties and responsibilities include:

• Works with professionalism, integrity, respect and innovation as a
member of the Information Systems team in delivering service to our
customers.

• Develops and maintains security systems and practices to protect the
integrity, availability, confidentiality, and recoverability of data and
information across all technology platforms (i5, client/server, web, etc)
within Carhartt.

• Maintains Carhartt’s Disaster Recovery Plan, leading the effort
across business units and cross-functional teams.

• Develops, coordinates, and manages security practices
standardization, business continuation, patch management, security methods,
approaches, policies and procedures across Carhartt systems.

• Works in conjunction with other staff to evaluate security risk for
new application systems.

• Interfaces with user community to understand their security needs and
implements procedures to accommodate them. Ensures that user community
understands and adheres to necessary procedures to maintain security.
Conducts accurate evaluation of the level of security required.

• Assists in coordinating and conducting security risk assessments to
identify risks and potential corrective actions.

• Participates in development of procedures necessary to ensure the
safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional
or inadvertent access or destruction.

• Facilitates a security awareness program among staff so that
information is treated as an asset, and develops and supports training in
multiple communities.

• Maintains a system of management reporting that provides timely and
relevant information on all aspects of the computer security function.

• Adheres to established IS methodologies for project/workorder
management, change management and problem management.

• Participates in all safety, security and infection control programs
that are mandatory as well as those required and provided by the department.

• Demonstrates work practices consistent with Carhartt and
department-specific safety, security and infection control policies.

• Coordinates the annual disaster recovery test.

• Works with Manager of Information Technology to ensure that disaster
recovery contracts are current and will support the recovery of
Carhartt’s critical business operations.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Must possess strong knowledge of information security management and
practice; strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and
professional standards for systems security; strong project management
skills; good communication skills; change management skills; demonstrate
personal traits of a high level of motivation; team orientation;
professionalism; trust; and place a high value on treating others with
dignity and respect.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Information Systems
Security and Disaster Recovery Planning is required.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Information Management, or related field
is required (any equivalent combination of education and/or experience will
be considered).
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) professional
certification is preferred.

Working Conditions

• Normal office environment: Cubicle setting.
